Course Description
This course is designed around the concept that dance can be employed in both formal and informal situations as an integral part of the learning experience. It aims to provide a background for development of a sound understanding of movement and the creative process. Students will be provided with the tools for analysing movement, which can be applied in both artistic and educational situations. Within this context, they will identify and explore basic concepts of teaching and apply these principles to the development of lesson plans for educational dance. Additionally, the course is designed to help students enhance school based physical education programs through planning and implementing effective dance education modalities within physical education settings.
