Course Description

This course is designed for the further development of students who completed the year 1 course – Fundamentals of Netball. It is intended to help students with the teaching of various skills, tactical play and strategies of the game. Additionally, it will support and enhance cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains as the facilitator motivates students to be critical thinkers. The practice of advanced playing and officiating skills during simulated game situations assist students with further knowledge both at the theoretical and practical levels. It provides a broad framework on which students may build a repertoire of skills to compete at diverse levels. In addition, on the completion of this course, students will be able to plan, organize and execute a well-structured netball tournament. Through this course in collaboration with Netball Jamaica (NJ), participants may also be certified as coaches, umpires and officials in other aspects of netball.
