In September 2014 I was granted the life changing opportunity to Study at The Mico University College. With absolutely no hesitation or second thought I chose to major in Physical Education. Having no idea what to expect I embarked on the journey of being a student athlete due to the fact that I was a recipient of a Track and Field scholarship. I then realized and understood that sport and academic goes hand in hand if I want to be rounded individual and maintain my spot in the Mico.

It was very challenging trying to balance both track and field and my academics but I was left with no choice. Eager to get my grades better I turned to the lecturers and my peers at the Physical Education department who helped me along the way. The abundance of knowledge I garnered studying Physical Education even started to help me to do better in track and field, just by implementing some of it in my training and everyday life.

What makes it even sweeter is that for the 8 semesters I did there over a 4 year period my GPA got better every term and year, a pattern I never knew was possible. The student that started as a ā€œCā€ student finished as a prime ā€œAā€ student. To put the icing on the cake I also ended my journey at The Mico being the best 3000m steeplechase and 5000m runner the Institution has seen in at least 2 decades or more.
